Artistically inclined since childhood, Serena is a multi-disciplinary artistic entertainer who expresses her joie de vivre through various media—specializing in Face Painting and Glitter Tattoos! Hailing from the artistic haven of San Francisco, and living for many years on the beautiful island of Maui, Serena has always enjoyed spreading happiness by bringing the temporary arts of Face Painting and Glitter Tattoos to as many people as possible.
As long as she can remember, Serena always loved the performing arts. At 4 years old, she began to put on plays at home; at 5 she broke the mold by demanding to be Darth Vader for Halloween. A wide-eyed 8-year-old asked the flying trapeze artist for her autograph, dazzled by the rhinestones on her costume, staring in wonder at the wild designs painted on her face. Ah yes, a spark was lit.
Her paintings, drawings and crafts continually emerged, as she gained experience in theatre arts and explored the world of dance, all the while dearly loving anything to do with costuming. Encountering Henna Temporary Tattoo Art in San Francisco as a young adult, she dove into practice and began working professionally not long after. Simultaneously, she had a unique opportunity to work with some other local artists on collaborative interactive art installations and events. When asked one day if she could paint faces at a children’s birthday party, she admitted she never had, but would love to try! From that day forward she developed her skill and talent, working for some of the top agencies in the San Francisco Bay Area and for several years at Renaissance Faires in both Northern and Southern California. She also worked on the crew of the Labyrinth Masquerade Ball in L.A. as a face and body painter, where her affection for the realm of “fantasy” was duly indulged while helping create a huge cast of elves, fairies, goblins and other magical creatures for professional stage and walkaround performance.
Over the years she has continued her education by diligent and constant self-study, attending workshops and seminars, and through lots of innovative practice! She has brought Face Painting and Temporary Body Art to Birthday Parties, Corporate Gatherings, Grand Openings, School Carnivals, Weddings, Anniversaries, Coming-of-Age Celebrations, Theatre Performances, Municipal Events, Holiday Shin-Digs, Company Picnics, Photoshoots, Private Appointments and more. Everyone loves Face Painting and Temporary Body Art! Whether it’s little designs or big, dramatic creations, her wearable art is sure to be enjoyed and remembered!
